Challenges in the landscape that Murier addresses

Are you getting the most out of your landscape? Does it bring you joy? Do you dread working in the garden in July and August? Do you dread working in it at all since it went wild? Does it flood; did the drought kill all your non-native plants; did the salt wedge freak you out? Do you miss the bees and hummingbirds in your grandparents’ garden, the mirliton on their chainlink fence, and the tomatoes in their yard?

Take back what you need from your landscape, contact Murier to co-design a landscape that fits your specific needs and support the local ecosystems at the same time.

Our Services

Native Plant Landscaping

Native plants are the native ecosystem. They provision food and habitat for countless pollinator and animal species, filter our water and air, sequester carbon, and are, quite simply, beautiful. Additionally, many of our native species have been used medicinally or as a food source by Native Americans for centuries. Native plants are adapted to our region; and, as such, are a natural solution to the weather extremes of Southern Louisiana. Murier designs to any scale garden and client needs; click the button below to learn more about the different sizes of gardens and what will work best in your landscape.

Green Infrastructure

Sometimes native plants cannot solve all local flooding problems. Luckily, Murier specializes in Green Infrastructure construction, building water management practices that complement native plants or work where plants cannot (rare though that may be). There is a solution for every landscape, too may to list here. If you’re struggling with local flooding in your yard, Murier can solve that with you. These installations are tailored to the specific site. Contact Murier now to set up a consultation.

DIY Consulting

On many sites, all that’s needed is a little elbow grease and a good plan. We love a bit of DIY and know others do too. For a small fee, Murier can help develop action plans for homeowners to combat flooding, improve pollinator habitat, or simply add some year-round and low maintenance beauty to the landscape. We can supply a plan, plants, and a check-in once you get your hands dirty to make sure everything is looking good.
